The Encore will be available for display at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit from January 22 and will be available for sale in 2013.Tony DiSalle, US Vice President of Buick Marketing said that they have always provided good options to their consumers and Buick Encore is a smart and great looking car for smart people who want to enjoy luxury crossover in a more maneuverable and agile vehicle.

He also said that the new Buick Encore will be for the new Buick customers who want better features and flexibility that are hardly found in most of the cars that are launched these days. 2012 Chevrolet Sonic

Chevrolet has announced that they will begin the production of Sonic towards the end of 2011. Chris Perry, Vice President of Marketing, Chevrolet said that currently Chevrolet is the only company in the United States that is making small cars. Further it was mentioned that since Sonic car is small in size it will have smaller but powerful engines that are efficient. It will have the same engines that are currently available in Chevrolet Cruze. The car has three transmissions with five speed manual and six speed automatic with the 1.8 liter and six speed manual with the 1.4 liter.

All Chevrolet Sonic are designed to provide the best braking and handling features and therefore they all will feature MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar. It will also have a semi independent torsion beam axle mount compound link type rear suspension with gas charged shocks. To make it look sporty and new age car, Chevrolet Sonic will have 17 inches tires. For better safety the car will have anti-lock braking system that incorporates electronic brake force distribution. The electronic power steering will be the same as available in current Chevrolet cars.

Many car experts and journalists feel that Chevrolet Sonic hatchback will give serious competition to Hyundai Elantra and Ford Fiesta because of the features in it. The car is capable to produce 138 horsepower which Chevrolet believes is a bit powerful than Ford Fiesta. On the other hand, many people feel that Chevrolet Sonic looks like a better version of Aveo. Chevrolet feels that small cars have better chances of attracting consumers in the United States these days as more and more people want to keep their cars small and comfy and plus smaller cars have more appeal and style and they come at a low price tag.

Ford has been trying hard to steal the CES 2011 show with their new Ford Focus Electric which is the first zero emission car of 2011.In 2010, Chevrolet Volt and Nissan LEAF grab the attention of the world audience and Ford is making sure that 2011 is their year.The Ford Focus Electric has an aerodynamic body that really makes heads turn when it moves on the road.To some extent it looks like Aston Martin used in recent James Bond movies.It has 17 inches alloy wheels that has low-rolling resistance wheels.This electric car is powered by 100 kW electric motor and 23 kWh battery.The car is capable to create 123 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque.The top speed of the car is 84 miles per hours and the car is capable to drive 100 miles in one single charge.

2. GM Pod Car

The future belongs to the car that not only is small and powerful but that looks futuristic as well.General Motors has received a lot of attention in 2010 with their Chevrolet Volt but this time they are taking the audience in the future with their new Pod Car.General Motors’ Pod Car looks like a futuristic two seater car that is entirely automatic.There are three models that are launched at the CES 2011 and all the models are capable of traveling 25 miles in one single charge.However, the Pod Car does not have a decent top speed and it can go up to 25 miles per hour.General Motors has incorporated various new features like collision avoidance system and safety features to detect pedestrians as well.
