Students have been invited for participating in the 4th Annual Lexus Eco Challenge this fall. The participating winner gets a chance to win scholarships and grants worth $500000. Earlier as well, the luxury car maker has tied up with the Scholastic – a global children publishing, education & media company for creating an eco-friendly educational school program.
Some teachers believe that Lexus Eco challenge has changed the way they teach, by giving the students a real challenge which they encourages them to think of something they care about. They say that though the students involve in learning the other subjects but due to this program they have learned to care. They believe it is a wonderful program.

The grand prize winner of last year was a high school team, which has set a new standard this year as they have reached across the border focusing on their project and help the people of Haiti.

Those winners built a solar powered bio diesel production system. Apart from that they also worked with some representatives of a school in Haiti for planting a Jatropha Farm for growing seeds which generates oil required for the biodiesel system.

Moreover besides building the biodiesel system for the Haitian school, these people also arranged some solar panels for donating and installing in the school.
